Playing in an orchestra or band provides an incredible opportunity for students to enrich their music education and gain valuable social experiences by making music on a grand scale with their peers.
With seven orchestras and a symphonic band, Third Street offers the largest and most expansive orchestral program in New York City. Young musicians ages six through 19, from the very beginner to the most advanced, are guaranteed to find a home in one of our ensembles.
How to join a Saturday Orchestra?
In person placement auditions take place each September and June. Video auditions are accepted throughout the year, with students able to enter or change orchestras in September and February.
